Frequently Asked Questions

I will dress elegantly and appropriately to reflect the formality/informality of your wedding- it’s your day – not mine. It is my intention to complement your bridal party.

Yes and I would encourage this, as it adds dimension to your ceremony ensuring that your ceremony is personalised and unique to you and your partner.

This is a personal choice, however most couples find that 1- 2 is appropriate and ensures that the Ceremony is not too long.

The average time is 15 – 20 minutes but this may vary depending on how many readings/poems etc. you include.

No this is a personal choice and is not a requirement.

Again this is personal, it can be anyone you like.

Absolutely – these days anything goes. It’s your day, and totally your choice

This is your choice – however I would urge you to consider your guests including those who may be young/elderly and become hot, tired and thirsty. It’s also important to keep in mind that your reception, caterers, photographers and musicians are all running to your preferred schedule so if your Ceremony begins late this can compromise the other parts of your day.

You must seek and receive approval from the relevant Council to hold the Ceremony. We can cover this in further detail at your second meeting.

Again this will come down to your personal preference, as it’s your special day. I will normally leave quietly and discretely following your ceremony, however if you wish for me to stay longer please let me know as this can be easily arranged.

In the event that I am unable to perform your ceremony, I will provide you with as much notice as possible and ensure another celebrant is available to officiate your wedding.

Once your ceremony is complete, you are a legally married couple. From a paperwork point of view, I will file your Marriage Papers with the Department of Internal Affairs to register your marriage with Births, Deaths and Marriages.
